VIDEOCAST 11:  ADHD

This video-cast discusses ADHD. We first address the complexity of ADHD as a syndrome rather than a "disease". It is discussed in the context of diminished Inhibition and other aspects of Executive Function. The genetic contributions to ADHD are touched on as are the overlapped with other brain and genetic disorders. Treatments are briefly reviewed.  The information is intended to provide background and information for teachers to better understand the diagnosis.

 

This book is not specifically about ADHD but rather about factors that can impair adults capacity to control their attention. Nevertheless the ideas are interesting and deserve consideration.
