This videocast discusses Autism Spectrum Disorder. We first address the complexity of Autism Spectrum Disorder as a syndrome . It is discussed in relation to the explicit features of the syndrome as well as the comorbidities and associated disorders.  The genetic contributions to ASD are touched on as are the overlapped with other brain and genetic disorders. Treatments are not reviewed.  The information is intended to provide background and information for teachers to better understand the diagnosis.
